One of the projects that the Latino Leadership Project has established to help shape the future of Latinos in Iowa is the annual Latino Youth Conference.Held in the Spring, this conference is an intensive, high-impact, one-day event that is aimed at Latino high school juniors and seniors from all over Iowa. This is also the kick-off event for the Latino Leadership Project's 3-Program year.
The presenters are mostly influential Latinos on a national scale, and the material presented is very pertinent to the students' present or near future.
The LLP Youth Conference has been implemented twice (on March 10th, 2000 and March 9th, 2001), and both times it seems to have made quite an impression on the high school students in attendance. Please click below for more information.
